Timmelsjoch, also known as the Passo del Rombo, is one of those routes that should, in our opinion, be at the top of the list “must-see” any motorcycle tourist. The route is located in the Öztal Alps, separating northern Italy from Austria, revealing the Alps of North and South Tyrol. Picturesque, beautiful and still not very commercial. All of this makes the Timmelsjoch on a motorcycle a pure pleasure for the eyes, spirit, and wheels. Amazing 44 turns at an altitude of more than 2500 meters.
Timmelsjoch on a motorcycle – where is the best place to start your journey?
When planning a trip to the Alps, the most optimal solution for us was to drive through Timmesjoch on the way back from Italy, where we had spent the night on the Stelvio Pass. If you are also planning to drive around Stelvio, Gavia, and Umbrialpass, then returning to the north via Timmelsjoch is the most interesting option, and certainly one of the most beautiful. The route from Bolzano leads through the sunny Passeiertal vineyards to the valley of the Ötztal glacier.
